AN ESTEVAN ROBLES PHOTOGRAPHY exhibit

An art exhibition featuring the macro photography of Albuquerque photographer: Estevan Robles. Mostly known for his signature landscape photography, this exhibition consisted of large-scale macro photography on acrylic glass. Featuring images that represent the colors of nature and the seven chakras.

FLOW: Artist Statement

I’m traditionally known as a landscape, urban and night photographer. In my new series entitled “Flow”, I dive into a new macro subject medium. Flow explores not only macro photography subjects, but also the seven sacred chakras of our internal energy system.

Differing from the break of southwest landscapes and urban subjects. Flow’s vision was made naturally from the idea of wanting to try new subjects, like exact opposite of the wide landscape subjects. After exploration with macro, I was also asked to slow down by the flowers and get closer. I was required to look so close that I had to begin to look inward.

Expanding beyond mental and physical, I’ve learned that we are made up of an energetic system called Chakras. They are located within the physical body. There are 7 Chakras that explore different levels of our spiritual awareness that flow up the spine. Depending on whether these energy centers are healthy or blocked, you may experience different attributes of your physical, mental, and emotional health.

We are like the flowers that flow through life going in between our different chakra energy stages. A delicate dance that we do daily that gives us opportunities to look within to explore and better ourselves.

The Flow photography exhibition also included a secondary reception which invited local photographers into the gallery to set up a pop up photography market. Chosen photographers were hand selected by the featured artist: Estevan Robles.
