Curator’s statement on the Desde la Raiz art exhibit

“Desde la Raiz is a group exhibition curated by Mauro de la Tierra and Smittenkittentx. It’s a commemoration of our roots and where we come from. The series explores subjects such as nature, immigration, systemic issues, poverty and empowering indigenous roots. Through our own exploration of art, the collective uses art to bring the same awareness to marginalized communities from similar socio-economic backgrounds. In this exhibition, the collective uses indigenous symbolism to bring awareness to urgent issues such as the environment and the rapid decline of our cultural climate.”
